General Page
The General page in the Properties window for an RBD connector or a Markov transition displays general properties about the connector or transition. If you open the window from a Style Library file, the Identifier and Style properties are not shown. Additionally, Bind to style is replaced with Connectors using this style are bound by default. Selected by default, this checkbox controls whether Bind to style is selected or cleared in the Visual Properties window for a connector or transition when you insert it in a diagram. For more information about Style files, see RBD Style Library Files or Markov Style Library Files.
The following table describes the properties that can appear on the General page.
Property
Description
Identifier
The unique identifier assigned to the connector or transition. This property is not shown when this Properties window is opened from a Style Library file. While an identifier is assigned to a connector or transition when you insert it, you can change it to any unique value. The formats for the assigned identifiers are specified by RBD Connector Identifier and Markov Transition Identifier under Identifiers in the System file properties. For more information, see Identifiers System File Properties.
Bind to style
OR
Connectors using this style are bound by default
Bind to style is present when you open the Visual Properties window from a connector or transition. It indicates whether the connector or transition is tied to a style in a Style Library file. Whether this checkbox is selected for a newly inserted connector or transition depends on whether Connectors using this style are bound by default is selected in the visual properties for the style. While you can clear this checkbox for any connector or transition in a diagram, doing so removes the tie to the style. Any changes that you then make to the properties for this connector or transition apply only to it. Any property changes that you might later make to the style do not affect this particular connector or transition.
Connectors using this style are bound by default is present when you open the Visual Properties window from a Style Library file. It indicates whether Bind to style is selected for a newly inserted connector or transition of this style in a diagram. This checkbox is selected by default so that all visual property changes that you make to the style are made to all connectors or transitions bound to this style in diagrams.
Style
The style of the connector or transition. This property is not shown when the Visual Properties window is opened from a Style Library file. Choices include all supplied styles and all custom styles inserted in enabled Style Library files for the module. When you insert a connector or transition of a selected style in the diagram, its properties are based on the properties specified for that style in the module’s Style Library file. The four supplied styles for connectors are Arc, Bezier, Connector (default), and Straight Line. The four supplied styles for transitions are Arc, Orthogonal, Straight, and Transition (default).
Priority
The priority of an connector in relation to other connectors coming into the junction. This property is shown in the upper right corner of the page only when multiple connectors go into a junction. The default is 1. Numeric values do not have to be sequential. However, the lower the value, the higher the priority. This property is not shown when you open the Properties window from a Style Library file.
