For many calculation models, the quality level selected for a part impacts prediction results. Quality level is a measure of the manufacturer's production and test procedures as well as the quality controls in place. The scales for quality levels vary significantly from one model to another. Additionally, in some models, quality levels can vary from one part to another. For example, Telcordia models define a single quality scale for all part types. However, MIL-HDBK-217 models have different quality scales for different part types.
