FIDES Process Grade Sections
According to the FIDES methodology, each of the sections in the Prediction FIDES Process Grade file has a specific effect on product reliability. As you answer the question sets for each of these sections, a Pi process factor that reflects overall process quality is calculated. When you enable this file, this Pi process factor is used to adjust the base failure rate calculated for an assembly to take process-related failure causes into account.
The following table describes the main processes and conditions evaluated by the sections in the Prediction FIDES Process Grades file. Each section is assigned a percentage value to indicate its overall contribution in the calculation of the Pi process factor. While this table notes the default value for each section, you can use the Phase Contributions command to change these values. For more information, see Changing the Contribution Percentage for FIDES Sections.
