Description
---|---|
Identifier
The unique identifier assigned to the transition. While an identifier is assigned to a transition when you insert it, you can change it to any unique value. The format for the assigned identifier is specified by Markov Transition Identifier, which appears under Identifiers in the System file properties. For more information, see Identifiers System File Properties.
Description
A description of the transition rate entered in the Rate column.
Input State
The state from which the transition inputs to the active state.
Output State
The state from which the transition outputs from the active state.
Transition Reward
Indicates whether the cost per unit time associated with the transition from one state to another is a gain or a loss. The cost is usually a gain, but it can also be a loss. For example, a repair is a departure (transition) from a failed state. Therefore, repair cost can be modeled using the cost per each transition.
Rate
The transition (failure or repair) rate for going from one state to the next.
Cost
The gain or loss per unit time based on the specified capacity. Each state can have a cost associated with it. The cost associated with a state is proportional to its performance level as well as the time spent in that state. This is modeled using the cost per unit time. The cost can also be a loss. Because losses can be different for different failures, this can be modeled using the cost per each state visit. Because repair is a departure from a failed state, repair costs can be modeled using a cost per each departure.
