The Markov Diagram panes displays the diagram selected in the Markov Table. When you select the default Markov diagram in a newly created System file or insert a new Markov diagram in an existing System file, the diagram has only one state, which has a bold arrow pointing to it. This state represents the initial or primary system state. Generally, this is where all equipment is operational.

To build the Markov diagram, you insert states for the good, failed, and degraded states of the system, transitions for the transitions between them, and the appropriate transition rates. You can modify the visual properties for states and insert labels to provide supplementary information that might be needed or helpful. For more information, see Markov Diagram Objects.
