Inserting a Fault Tree or Branch Directly in an FTA Diagram Library File
You can insert a top gate for a new fault tree or branch directly in an FTA Diagram Library file and then insert and define its gates and events.
1. Open or create the FTA Diagram Library file.
2. For each Library diagram to insert, do the following:
a. Select Insert > New Top Gate.
The new top gate that is inserted is assigned the next sequential identifier based on the format specified for FTA Gate Identifier in this file’s properties. The default is Gate(X), where (X) is the next available numeric value.
b. For this top gate, complete the options in the table, which are the same as those in the FTA Table for a System file in the same Project. For more information, see FTA Table Pane.
3. To construct the library diagram, insert and define gates and events for this top gate in the same way as you do in the System file. For more information, see Fault Tree How-Tos.
4. When finished, close the FTA Diagram Library file.
