Highlighting Cut Sets for a Gate
Once FTA calculations run, you can use the Highlight Cut Sets command to highlight the cut sets for a gate in the diagram. If this command is unavailable, cut sets have not yet been calculated.
1. Ensure that a gate is selected in the FTA Diagram pane.
2. Select FTA > Highlight Cut Sets. The auto-hide Task List opens.
In the Cut Sets Highlighting pane, two fields are present, one for gate selection and another for cut set selection.
In the second field, the number assigned to the cut set indicates its order. If quantitative analysis has been performed, this field also shows the probability of occurrence for the cut set.
3. In the first field, select the gate for which to view cut sets.
4. In the second field, select the cut set to highlight.
You can use the Previous Cut Set and Next Cut Set commands to go to the previous or next cut set for the gate.
5. When finished highlighting cut sets, do one of the following to turn off the highlighting and close the Task List:
Click the X in the upper right corner of the window.
Select FTA > Highlight Cut Sets to clear the checkmark to the left of this command.
You can view all cut sets for a gate in the Properties window. For more information, see Viewing Cut Sets for a Gate.
