FTA Common Monitors Library Files
You can use FTA Common Monitors Library files only with SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 fault trees. These library files store monitors you want to use with multiple events to detect latent failures that are not self-annunciating.
In the calculation properties for an SAE event, you indicate whether latent failures can occur and if a monitor is used to detect them. You then supply properties for this monitor. For more information, see Latency Page (SAE Events Only).
If you later realize that you use this same monitor with other SAE events, you can save its properties to the FTA Common Library file to quickly create a common monitor. You can also insert common monitors directly in FTA Common Monitors Library files. All common monitors inserted in these library files are available for selection on the Latency page.
The following table describes the two panes in the FTA Common Monitors Library file.
Pane
Description
FTA Common Monitors
Displays a table listing all common monitors inserted in this library file. Clicking < Click here to insert a new record > in the last row inserts a common monitor. For more information, see Inserting an Event Directly in an FTA Event Library File.
FTA Common Monitor Parameters
Displays properties for the common monitor selected in the Common Monitor pane. These properties are basically the same as those you supply for a monitor on the Latency page for an SAE event.
You can directly modify the table records in the Common Monitor pane. You can also delete, copy, cut, and paste records in the same manner as you do in the System file.
