Two severity lists exist in the Master List Library file: Severity Automotive and Severity Military. In the Project’s Data Definition file, you can attach one of these lists, or a custom list that you have inserted in a List Library file, to Severity.

The following figure shows the display text, code, and value for the items in the Severity Military list. When this list is attached to Severity, selecting Critical results in the use of a severity value of 7 in FMEA calculations for the mode.

The following figure shows the display text, code, and value for the items in the Severity Automotive list. When this list is attached to Severity, selecting 6 results in the use of a severity value of 6 in FMEA calculations for the mode.
