Generating a FMEA Risk Matrix Graph
When Initial Risk Matrix or Resulting Risk Matrix is selected on the FMEA Graph Type page of the Graph Wizard, you can generate a graph based on a risk matrix definition. For more information, see FMEA Risk Matrix Files.
1. Start the Graph Wizard and complete the first few pages as described in Generating a Custom FMEA Graph.
2. On the FMEA Graph Type page, select Initial Risk Matrix or Resulting Risk Matrix and click Next. No other data is necessary for this graph type. The Save Graph Template page appears.
3. Complete this page and the final page of the Graph Wizard as described in Saving Graph Information to a Graph Template File.
Once the wizard closes, the Select FMEA window opens if more than one FMEA exists in the System file.
4. If the Select FMEA window opens, select the appropriate FMEA and click OK to generate the graph.
In the risk matrix, each cell displays the number of records assigned to it. When you place your mouse cursor over a value, a tooltip is shown. The top half of the tooltip displays the risk level (such as High, Medium, and Low). The lower half displays a descriptive field for the data level followed by the record identifier, which appears in parentheses. The descriptive field and record identifier for each data level follow:
Item — Item Name (Item Identifier)
Mode — Failure Mode (Mode Identifier)
Cause — Cause of Failure (Cause Identifier)
Effect — Local Effect (Effect Identifier)
Action — Action Summary (Action Identifier)
