FMEA Calculation Equations
The goal of a FMEA is to determine the significance of individual failure modes and prioritize those that are critical so that corrective actions can be taken. As described in Criticality Assessment Methods, different FMEA methods for assessing criticality are supported. For example, failure rates, criticality numbers, failure mode probabilities, and risk priority numbers (RPNs) are all computed when FMEA calculations run.
