Viewing and Modifying Properties in the File Properties Window
The File Properties window is an auto-hide window that provides for viewing and modifying properties for an open file. General information about auto-hide windows and how to use them appears in Auto-Hide Windows.
The method you use to open this window depends on the mode in which it is operating.
If the File Properties window is operating in auto-hide mode, the File Properties tab is visible in the border of the window. Place the mouse cursor over this tab to slide the File Properties window into view.
If the File Properties tab is not visible, select View > File Properties to open this window.
When the File Properties window first opens, all headings but General are collapsed.
To view the properties under a collapsed heading, you click the + (plus) sign to the left of the heading to expand it.
To hide the properties under an expanded heading, you click the - (minus) sign to the left of the heading to collapse it.
Clicking the heading itself switches between expanding and collapsing the heading. You may have to scroll to see all properties that are available under a heading.
When you click in the Setting column for a property, a description of this property appears at the bottom of the window. You can make modifications to file properties in this column. For more information, see Setting Properties and User Options.
When viewing the properties for a System file in the File Properties window, headings are shown only for the modules in use. However, because the FRACAS and LCC modules have no system-level properties, no headings are ever shown for these two modules.

The File Properties pane is one of many available in the Project Properties window. In this window, the File Properties pane displays properties for the Project, file, or heading that is active in the Project Properties pane. When you view System file properties in this pane, headings for all licensed modules are shown, regardless of whether they are in use. Additionally, all headings are expanded by default. For more information, see Project Properties Window.
Descriptions of all properties that can appear for an open System file or support file appear in the following topics:
