Viewing Field Names or Sample Data
When you insert data fields in a Report Design file, the names of these fields are shown by default. However, the Show Data Fields command on the Designer menu or the shortcut menu controls whether to display field names or representative data.
Selecting Show Data Fields switches between the two display options.
• When a checkmark appears beside this command, field names are shown.
• When no checkmark appears beside this command, sample data is shown.
In the
Options window, > is updated to reflect the currently selected display option. You can also use this checkbox to switch between the display of field names or sample data. For more information, see
