Text files are generic ASCII file types that can be created by many software programs or with any text editor program. Importing from and exporting to two different types of text files is supported:

When importing and exporting text files, the Import Wizard and Export Wizard support multiline entries in text fields. When importing a multiline text field, the Import Wizard interprets the | (pipe character) in a text field as a hard return. When exporting a multiline field to a text file, the Export Wizard inserts a | (pipe character) in the place of the hard return.
