Renaming a Project or File from the Project Navigator
From the Project Navigator, you can rename a Project when you are in the Project/System selection state, or you can rename a file when you are in the file selection or file open state. For more information, see Project Navigator States. In the file open state, the file that is open cannot be the one to be renamed. If you attempt to rename an open file, a window opens, indicating that this file cannot be renamed because it is open.
1. In the appropriate state of the Project Navigator, right-click the Project or file and select Rename. The Rename window opens.
The Original name field, which is display-only, shows the current name of the Project or file.
2. For New name, enter the new name to assign to the Project or file.
3. Click OK. The new name for the Project or file is shown in the Project Navigator.
Renaming a Project does not change the name assigned to the default System file that is created along with the Project. Once the Project is open, as long as this System file is not open, you can repeat this procedure to rename it.
