Some text and memo fields already have lists attached. If a text or memo field is used in some special way, the following icon is shown for this data field.

For such a field, the message to the right of List indicates that it is a special type. You cannot remove the predefined list or attach a different list. For example, when the System Tree Items table is selected in the Data Definition pane, you can select Calculation Model in the Default Prompt column. In the Field Definition pane, List is unavailable because the list attached to Calculation Model cannot be modified. For Default value, you can select a default value from the predefined list for this field. All calculation models that are licensed are available for selection.

Some text and memo fields have lists attached for your convenience. For example, when the System Tree Items table is selected in the Data Definition pane, you can select Manufacturer. The icon to its right indicates that it is a text data field.

In the Field Definition pane, List is available even though the Manufacturers list is attached by default. In Field purpose, the explanation indicates that you can add manufacturers to the Manufacturers list. However, because its List field is available, you can attach any list to it from those in enabled List Library files. For Default value, you select any value in the attached list as the default.
