Part Preview
When EPRD, NPRD, or Prediction Parts Library search results are shown in the Library Browse window, the Preview pane displays prediction data and general data parameters for the part in a hierarchical tree format. All data specified for the part is shown under Prediction Data and General Data in alphabetical order.
The presence and availability of Model above the hierarchical tree depends on the library searched and possibly the active pane in the System file.
If results are for an EPRD or NPRD Library search when an RBD pane is active, Model is not present.
If the results are for an EPRD or NPRD Library search when a Prediction pane is active, Model is present but unavailable. This is because failure rates for EPRD and NPRD parts are not based on a reliability prediction calculation model but rather on library-supplied failure rates. For more information, see NPRD and EPRD Libraries.
If the results are for a Prediction Parts Library search, which can be performed only when a Prediction pane is active, Model is present and available. In this field, you can select from any of the models available to see the parameters that it requires under Prediction Data. If you insert a Prediction Parts Library part into the System file, the Prediction Data pane displays the parameters for the model selected for this part’s parent assembly. However, the part data for all available models is stored in case you later change the model selected for the parent assembly. For more information, see Part Parameters Required for Predictions.
The part data shown in the Preview pane is display-only. To make changes to the data stored in your custom Prediction Parts Library files, you would open these files and change values there. For more information, see Viewing and Modifying the Data for a Part in a Prediction Parts Library File. After you insert a Prediction Parts Library part into the System file, you can modify parameter values for this part in its Prediction Data and General Data panes. For more information about part data, see Prediction Part Data.
