Inserting a Report Control
When customizing a Start page or a dashboard, you can insert a Report control for each report that you want to display.
1. If necessary, click Customize to view the customization area.
2. Click the Report button.
The control is inserted on the page. You can now set up the report you want it to display.
3. In this control, click Set up the Report control. The Control Settings Wizard starts and displays the Select Project page.
4. Select the Project that contains the Report Design or Report Binder file you want to use for generating the report and click Next. The page that appears next depends on whether the Project contains multiple System files.
If the Project contains multiple System files and/or FRACAS Group files, the Select File page appears. Go to step 5.
If the Project contains one System file, the Select Report page appears. Go to step 6.
5. On the Select File page, select the System file or FRACAS Group file to use to generate the report and click Next. The Select Report page appears.
6. On the Select Report page, select the Report Design or Report Binder file for the report that you want to generate and click Next.
The page that appears next depends on whether you need to select filter parameters or a record.
If the report requires filter parameters, the Select Filter Parameters page appears. Go to step 7.
If the report requires a record selection, the Select Record page appears. Go to step 8.
Otherwise, the Select Text page appears. Go to step 9.
7. On the Select Filter Parameters page, supply values for each filter parameter and then click Next. The page that appears next depends on whether you need to select a record.
If the selected report requires a record selection, the Select Record page appears. Go to step 8.
Otherwise, the Select Text page appears. Go to step 9.
8. On the Select Record page, select the record and click Next. The Select Text page appears.
9. On the Select Text page, for Control Title, enter the text to display on the control; then, click Next. The Wizard Complete page appears.
10. Click Finish.
The control is updated with the specified report and title. The control also displays the System file, Project, and filter parameters for the report. When you click the report name or report icon, the report opens in the preview window if it can be generated. If it report cannot be generated, a window opens, indicating why this action failed.
