Grouping Selection Criteria for a Filter in the Filter File
For any filter in the Filter file, you can group selection criteria to indicate the order in which to perform them.
1. If the Filter file is not already open, then open it.
You open the Project Filter file in the same way as any other file. To open your My Filter file, in the Project Navigator, click My Filter File, which appears beneath the list of all files in the Project files. For more information, see Project Navigator.
2. In the Filter Definition pane, select the filter.
3. In the Build Filter pane, hold down the Ctrl key and click each of the criterion to group.
4. One the appropriate criteria are selected, click Group.
An opening parenthesis is inserted prior to the first selected criterion, and a closing parenthesis is inserted after the last selected criterion. If necessary, you can ungroup selection criteria. For more information, see Ungrouping Selection Criteria in the Filter File.
If you delete or move a criterion when criteria are grouped, a parentheses mismatch can occur. In this case, when you leave the Build Filter pane, a window opens, indicating this. For more information, see Parentheses Mismatch.
