Diagram Objects
Each diagram module has certain objects that you can insert in it.The following table describes the objects that you can insert.
Diagram Module
Object
Description
Event Tree
Branch
A sequence of events in the event tree.
Column
An event in the event tree. By representing an event, a column also represents a step in an event tree sequence.
FTA
Gate
A symbol that represents the logic that ties the events to analyze to the top event.
Event
A hardware or software failure or a human error that can result in the occurrence of a specified undesired outcome at the system level.
Connector
The lines that connect the gates and events in the fault tree.
Label
A text string that provides information that might be necessary or helpful to understanding the diagram.
Markov
State
A block that represents a good, failed, or degraded system state to analyze.
Transition
The arcs that connect the states in the Markov diagram. Failure or repair rates are specified in the calculation properties for transitions.
Label
A text string that provides information that might be necessary or helpful to understanding the diagram.
RBD
Block
A portion or component of the system to analyze.
Connector
The lines that connect the blocks in the diagram.
Junction
A special object that connects multiple connectors together in the diagram.
Label
A text string that provides information that might be necessary or helpful to understanding the diagram.
You can configure the visual properties for all objects except event tree columns and branches. You can also apply and create styles, which are visual properties for objects that are stored in Style files. For more information about the Style file for a particular diagram module, see:
