Customizing Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts are key combinations that invoke common menu commands. For example, pressing Ctrl+P is the same as selecting File > Print. For any command, you can modify or delete an assigned keyboard shortcut or insert a new keyboard shortcut using the Keyboard tab in the Customize window.
1. To open the Customize window, right-click in the toolbar area and select Customize.
2. Click the Keyboard tab.
3. For Category, select the menu containing the command.
4. In the Commands list, select the command. If a description has been assigned to this keyboard shortcut, it appears in Description, which is display-only.
5. To assign a keyboard shortcut, do the following:
a. For Press new shortcut key, type the key or key combinations to assign. The button for assigning this shortcut key becomes available.
b. Click Assign.
6. To delete a keyboard shortcut, do the following:
a. In the Current Keys box, select the keyboard shortcut to delete.
b. Click Remove.
7. To reset keyboard shortcuts to their defaults, do the following:
a. Click Reset All. A confirmation window opens.
b. Click Yes.
8. When finished, click Close.
