Converting Relex 7 Modes Files to FMEA Modes Library Files
You can convert Relex 7.1 or later Modes file to FMEA Modes Library files when a Project is open in the Project Properties window. The conversion process copies the Relex 7 Modes files into the open Windchill Risk and Reliability Project.
1. If the Project is not open in the Project Properties window, then open it. For more information, see Opening a Project in the Project Properties Window.
2. In the Project Properties pane, select the Project.
3. Select Project > Convert Relex 7 Modes File. The Open window opens.
For Files of type, the only choice is FMEA Modes Libraries (*.rmd). You can select multiple files of this type for conversion. The default directory is the Files folder for the last version of Relex 7 found on your machine. If no version of Relex 7 is found, the default directory is the Files folder for the current installation.
4. Use the options in the Open window to navigate to the appropriate folder.
5. Select the Relex 7 Modes Library files to convert and then click Open to start the conversion process. The Converting Modes Files window opens, indicating progress as each Modes file is converted.
During this process, a log file is created. In addition to including status information, this file includes any warnings and errors generated. The format for the name of this file is:.
ModesConversionLog_2011_YYYY_MM_DD-hh_mm.htm
When the conversion is complete, the Conversion Complete window opens, indicating whether files were converted successfully. If not, it notes that warnings and errors were written to a log file.
6. To view the log file, click View Log. This file opens in your browser, where you can choose to print it. When finished viewing this file, click the X in the upper right corner of your browser to close it.
7. In the Conversion Complete window, click Close.
If a Relex 7 Modes file contains any cause records, in the file properties for the new FMEA Modes Library file that is created, General > Display Causes is selected. This results in the display of these records in the Cause window.
If a Relex 7 Modes file contains no cause records, this checkbox is cleared. This means that the Causes window is not shown in the newly created FMEA Modes Library file. To add causes to this file, select General > Display Causes to display the Cause window and then insert causes.
In the properties for the newly created FMEA Modes Library file, Version information > Created with Version displays the version of the Relex 7 file.
