Associating Other Types of Records With One or More Problems
You can associate records in any of the following tables with any number of problems: FTA Table, RBD Table, RBD Blocks, and System Tree Items. To associate a record with one or more problems, you use the special Associated Problems field, which displays a count of the problems with which the record is associated. If this field is not already present in the table, you can use the Format Builder to insert it. For more information, see Using the Format Builder to Modify an Enabled Table.
1. Click the Associated Problems field for the record. A browse button becomes available.
2. Click this button. The Associated Problems window opens. Associated problems are always shown at the top of the table. You can associate the record with any number of problems.
At the top of the table, the following message is shown: “Select the Problems you want to associate with X, where X is the identifier for the active record”. If you want to limit the problems shown in the table, you can use any of the filter options provided.
3. If you want to associate the record with one or more existing problems, in the Associated column, select the checkboxes for all these problems.
If you want to associate the record with a new problem, click < Click here to insert a new record >. In the Associated column, the checkbox for this newly created problem is selected by default.
The display-only Associated by and Associated date fields show the name of the user who created the association and the date and time when it was created.
4. For Details, enter any additional information you want.
5. When finished, click Close.
In the table, the Associated Problems field for the record is updated to indicate the number of problems with which it is now associated. The problem icon is shown in the row header for all records that are associated with problems.
