RBD/OpSim Redesign
The following table provides conversion notes regarding the differences between earlier versions of Relex RBD and OpSim and the OpSim module in Relex 2009.
Difference
Description
OpSim vs. OpSim diagrams
The former distinction between OpSim diagrams and OpSim diagrams is gone. The separate licenses that existed for RBD, OpSim, and Phase Diagrams prior to Relex 2009 are all rolled into one OpSim license. This new license supports all previous OpSim features.
Phase diagrams
Because phase diagrams in Relex 2009 differ significantly from phase diagrams in prior versions, they are not converted.
Figure/Block Calculation Properties
Figures were renamed blocks. In a block’s Calculation Properties window, on the Failure page, Percentage of component unit failure rate and Specified Failure rate are no longer present.
For Percentage of component unit failure rate, conversion results in the following changes:
If the value was 0 (default), the default standby failure rate properties for Relex 2009 are used.
If a non-zero value was specified, for Failure Distribution, the effective failure rate for the original figure is used.
If a failure rate was entered for Specified Failure rate, it is used. Any aging adjustment percentage is also used.
Data Shares
Data shares no longer exist. During conversion, the data in each data share is copied to each block that uses this data share. (Data overrides are not overwritten.) If the Project contains one or more System files with a data share that is used by multiple blocks, a new OpSim Blocks Library file is created in the converted Project. Within this library file, a record is inserted for each data share that was used by multiple blocks. In the diagram, a library identifier is assigned to each of these blocks so that data updates can be performed.
