Other Changes
The following table notes other changes you should be aware of when converting to PTC Windchill Quality Solutions 10.2.
Change
Description
Blocked Attachment Files
Conversion does not move the setting for blocked file types from the appsettings.config file in 10.1 to the new Blocked attachment file types option in the Administrator application. If converting from 10.1 to 10.2, you must manually copy the set of extensions from 10.1 to 10.2.
Graphing change for Pareto checkbox
Support of “true” Pareto graphs is added in Windchill Quality Solutions 10.2 M040. In earlier versions, selecting the Pareto checkbox in the Graph Wizard simply sorted the plotted data in descending order. Now selecting Pareto also plots a line indicating the cumulative percentage of occurrences to generate a true Pareto graph. At run time, earlier Graph Template files with Pareto selected are converted so that Sort in descending order is selected. This new checkbox accurately reflects the previous behavior. If desired, you can change the graph to a true Pareto graph by selecting Pareto. Sort in descending order is always selected and made unavailable when Pareto is selected as a Pareto graph always sorts in descending order.
LSAR File Generation
Data for the Item Name field in the FMEA Worksheet table is no longer exported when you generate a LSAR file from data for a component FMEA. You must select the text field with the data you want to export. All data in the selected field is then exported. For memo fields, text is broken into 65-character blocks and printed over as many lines as needed. Additionally, some fields that were previously filled with blanks are filled with zeros. For more information, see LSAR File Generation.
Oracle 10 Clients
Environment variables must be set correctly for the new drivers to work with Oracle 10. The ORACLE_HOME environment variable must be set to point to the home directory. For example: C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1. If the tnsnames.ora file is not under ORACLE_HOME\network\admin, the TNS_ADMIN environment variable must be set to point to the directory that contains the tnsnames.ora file. For example: %ORACLE HOME%\network\admin. The Conversion Wizard prompts you to set the ORACLE_HOME variable if it is not already set. For conversion to succeed, you must have Administrator privileges on the machine. An error message is shown if you do not have sufficient privileges.
