The predicted failure rate (λp) of a connector in the non-operational mode is given by:

Where:

λb= The non-operational base failure rate of the connector (Table A-1).

Kp= The active pin (or contact) factor (Table A-37).

For a single connector, λp should be divided by two. Note also that a non-operational KE factor is not included in the equation because an overall factor is applied at equipment/ assembly level. (Reliability Modelling.)
