The following figure shows the logical architecture of Windchill Risk and Reliability.

Beginning with Windchill Risk and Reliability 10.1, the Object Broker Service hosts all features previously handled by the Search Engine Service and Security Service. Similarly, the Long Running Task Service, which was new in the 10.1 release, hosts all features that used to be handled by the Reporting Service.

Additionally, the Long Running Task Service hosts all server-side operations for ‘singular support’ operations, which are those that must be executed from only one physical location. Singular support operations include calculation and report generation for Windchill Risk and Reliability Web Services, attachment and audit trail management, and more.
