Load Balancing Support
The following figure highlights the Windchill Risk and Reliability services that support load balancing.
You do not want to load balance the singular support operations hosted by the Long Running Task Service. Additionally, you do not want to load balance the Alert Service, which run on the Application Server.
• The Alert Service should not be load balanced because it does not interact with client applications. If you load balanced this service, running multiple services might result in the sending of duplicate alerts.
This guide does not provide guidance on how to load balance the Database Server. Modern database server platforms already support some form of distributed architecture. Because the Alert Service, and Database Server are not load–balanced, this guide excludes them from further coverage.
