Printing a Report to a File
You can also print a report to a file, which is useful if you want to email reports to colleagues or save them for later viewing. Windchill Risk and Reliability supports several file formats to which you can save reports.
1. Select File > Print. The Select Report to Print window opens.
2. Select (Common) Prediction (Summary).
3. For Print to file, click the browse button to open the Print to File window.
4. For File name, enter My Reliability Prediction.
5. For Save as type, select a file format that you know you can view on your computer. For example, if you have Adobe® Reader® installed, you can select PDF Format (*.pdf). If you have Microsoft Word® installed, you can select Microsoft Word Document (*.doc). If you are unsure, select Rich Text Format (*.rtf).
6. Ensure that the Open file in editor after printing checkbox is selected.
*
If you do not know if you have any of the applications needed for viewing the supported file types, you can clear the Open file in editor after printing checkbox. If this checkbox is selected and the appropriate viewing application is not installed, the file is created, but it cannot be opened.
7. Click Create. The Select Report to Print window becomes active again, with Print to file now completed appropriately.
8. Click OK to generate the report and open the saved file in the associated application.
9. When you have finished viewing the file, exit the application.
