Windchill Risk and Reliability Services and Wizards
In addition to installing the desktop application and Administrator application on the application server, the Setup program installs Windchill Risk and Reliability services and wizard. For services, Windchill Risk and Reliability always precedes their names.
Services
Alert Service
Checks for alerts against one or more Windchill Risk and Reliability databases. Alert files define the various events or conditions that are to trigger the sending of electronic messages to designated email addresses.
Long Running Tasks Service
Manages the execution of complex, long-running jobs in the context of the application service. If you manually start Windchill Risk and Reliability services, you must start this service before the other Windchill Risk and Reliability services.
Object Broker Service
Establishes communication between Windchill Risk and Reliability applications and databases, provides login and permission checking for applications.
Wizards
New Database Wizard
Takes you through the steps necessary to create or restore the Windchill Risk and Reliability database. By default, the New Database Wizard starts after the initial Windchill Risk and Reliability installation so that you can create the database. You can also start the New Database Wizard by double-clicking the WindchillRiskAndReliability.Database.Enterprise file on the application server. If the default installation directory is used, the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\PTC\Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0\Windchill Risk and Reliability.
Windchill Risk and Reliability Conversion Wizard
Takes you through the steps necessary to copy data in a previously existing Windchill Risk and Reliability or Relex database to the new Windchill Risk and Reliability database. On the application server, a shortcut for the Windchill Risk and Reliability Conversion Wizard is added to the Windchill Risk and Reliability program group on the Windows Start menu. You can also start this wizard by double-clicking the WindchillRiskAndReliability.ConvertWizard file, which is on the application server. If the default installation directory is used, the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Windchill Risk and Reliability 12.0\ Windchill Risk and Reliability.
