Warranty Parameters Pane for Sales vs. Returns Format
The Warranty Parameters pane for a warranty data set in the sales vs. returns format provides for identifying additional suspensions based on units surviving or remaining in operation after reaching some specified number of time units or intervals. The following table describes the parameters that appear in this pane for a warranty data set in the sales vs. returns format.
Parameter
Description
Suspend after
Indicates whether to also tag as suspensions all units that survive or remain in operation after reaching some specified number of time units or intervals. When this checkbox is cleared (default), only those units that do not fail by the last return interval are tagged as suspensions. When it is selected, in addition to tagging these same units as suspensions, all units that survive or remain in operation after reaching the number of intervals that are specified in the field to the right are tagged. For this data format, the interval type for all sales and return data is specified when the warranty data set is inserted. For more information, see Warranty Analysis How-Tos.
Calculate chi-square values
Indicates whether to perform chi-squared analysis. When this checkbox is cleared (default), chi-squared analysis is turned off. When it is selected, chi-squared analysis is turned on. In this case, the additional parameters shown below become available. The button for showing calculated chi-squared values is unavailable until after calculations run.
Chi-squared parameters
The following parameters are shown only when Calculate chi-square values is selected. You use these parameters to set thresholds and display properties for calculation results.
Critical value
Specifies the probability value at or below which periods are considered possible outliers.
Caution value
Specifies the probability value t or below which periods are considered likely outliers.
Color code returns
Indicates whether to code table cells in the Returns pane by the colors specified under Weibull in the System file properties. For more information, see Weibull System File Properties. The color coding of table cells is updated when calculations run. Choices for this parameter are:
By Sales Periods. When selected (default), cells are color coded according to indicate if the total for a sales period is normal or falls below either the caution value or the critical value.
By Return Periods. When selected, cells are color coded according to indicate if the total for a return period is normal or falls below either the caution value or the critical value.
No Color Code. When selected, cells are not color coded.
