Saving Custom Column Names
If you have changed the names of table columns in the Data Points pane for a Weibull life or degradation data set or for any ALT data set, you can save these custom names in the System file properties so that they are used for subsequently inserted data sets.
1. In the LDA Navigator, select the data set.
2. In its Data Points pane, click in any table cell.
3. Select LDA > Data Point Column Names > Save Column Names as User Defaults. All custom column names are saved to the System file properties.
4. To view or modify custom names in the System file properties once they are saved, do the following:
a. If the File Properties tab is visible in the left border of the application window, place your mouse cursor over it so that the File Properties window slides out into view. Otherwise, select View > File Properties to open this window.
b. If the module heading associated with the selected data set is collapsed, click it to expand this module’s properties.
For example, if a Weibull life data or degradation data set is selected and Weibull is collapsed, click this heading to expand the Weibull properties. If an ALT data set is selected and ALT is collapsed, click this heading to expand the ALT properties.
c. If Default Column Names is collapsed, click this heading to expand it. The custom names saved for data point columns are shown in the Setting column. When no custom name is shown for a column, the default name is used.
d. For each column name to change, enter the custom name to use in its Setting column.
e. When finished, click in the X in the upper right corner of the File Properties window to close it.
Any modifications you make in the file properties to custom column names apply only to newly inserted data sets. To reset the column names for an existing data set to currently saved column names, see Resetting Column Names to User Defaults. To switch from custom column names to default column names, see Resetting Custom Column Names to Default Names.
