Performing a Strength-Stress Interaction Calculation
You can use the General Statistics Calculator to compute a strength-stress calculation. Random point comparison is used to obtain a failure probability using strength and stress data. Failure is defined as strength (load-bearing capability) that is less than actual applied load.
1. If the General Statistics Calculator is not open, select LDA > General Statistics Calculator to open it.
2. In the navigation pane, click Strength-Stress Interaction.
3. Under Parameter, do the following:
a. For Trail quantity, enter the number of data points to analyze. The default is 300.
b. For the strength and stress data sets, select the distribution and enter the scale, slope, and threshold (t0) parameters.
c. Enter appropriate values for the remaining parameters. For descriptions, see Strength-Stress Interaction Calculation Parameters.
4. Click Calculate. Results are shown in display-only fields under Results.
5. When finished, click Close.
