As described in Predecessor Pane, clicking the browse button for Predecessor information opens a window in which you supply System file, configuration, and assembly selections that identify the predecessor assembly. When multiple configuration exist in the System file, you must select the appropriate configuration. If the predecessor assembly is the entire system, you select the top-most assembly.

When you click the browse button for System, another selection window opens for choosing the System file with the predecessor assembly. To save any changes you make in a selection window, you click the green checkmark. To close a selection window without making any changes, you click the red X.
