Entering Siemens Integrated Circuits
The following table describes the part parameters required for integrated circuits when Siemens is the selected calculation model. These Siemens component models are based on Siemens Norm SN 29500-2, Edition 2004-12, Failure Rates of Components: Expected Values for Integrated Circuits.
Parameter
Type
Description
Type
Choice List
The type of device. Choices vary by subcategory.
Secondary Type
Choice List
The subtype of device. Choices vary by subcategory.
Drift Sensitive Circuit
Checkbox
Required only for the following subcategories: Analog.
Indicates whether to take the drift sensitivity factor into account.
# of Gates
Integer
Required for the ASIC, Digital Logic, and Microprocessor subcategories.
The number of active gates in the package. You can determine the gate count from the logic diagram. A J-K or R-S flip flop is equivalent to 6 gates when used as part of an LSI circuit. A gate is considered to be any one of the following functions: AND, OR, exclusive OR, NAND, NOR, and inverter. When a logic diagram is not available, use a device transistor count to determine gate count.
# of Transistors
Integer
Required for the Analog subcategory. Also required for the ASIC, Digital Logic, and Microprocessor subcategories when the # of Gates parameter is left blank.
The number of active transistors in the package. You can determine the transistor count from the logic diagram.
# of Bits
Integer
Required only for the Memory subcategory.
The number of bits in the memory device. This parameter is used in conjunction with Units to enter the memory device bits.
Units
Choice List
Required only for the Memory subcategory.
The units for the # of Bits value. Choices are:
b (bits)
kb (1024 bits)
Mb (1,048,576 bits)
Gb (1,073,741,824 bits)
You can enter the bits several ways. For a 1 kilobyte memory chip for example, you can type 1 for # of Bits and select kb for Units. Or, you can type 1024 for # of Bits field and select b for Units.
[Voltage Parameters]
