The following table describes the part parameters required for resistors when PRISM is the selected calculation model. This model supports all but the following subcategories of resistors:

• Glass Glazed, Var

• Organic Solid, Var

• Surface Mount

Year of Manufacture

Integer

The four-digit year in which the device was manufactured (such as 1998 or 2004). The default is the current year.

While this field is used to determine the Growth factor (Pi G) for other parts, it does not affect the Growth factor for resistors. This is because a beta factor of 0 is used for all resistors. When the G factor is raised to the beta power, the result is always 1.

Variable

Checkbox

Required for the General subcategory.

Indicates if the device is variable or fixed.

Rated Power

Real (Watts)

The rated power of the device.
