Entering IEC TR 62380/RDF 2000 Resistors
The following table describes the part parameters required for resistors when IEC TR 62380 or RDF 2000 is the selected calculation model.
Parameter
Type
Description
[Power Parameters]
Real (Watts)
For more information, see Power Parameters.
# of Resistors
Integer
Required only for the following subcategory: Fixed, Low Dissipation Surface Mounting, Resistors and Resistive Array.
The number of resistors in use. Do not include resistors that are not used.
Max Junction Temp
Real (Degrees C)
Required only for the following subcategories: Fixed, Low Dissipation Surface Mounting, Resistors and Resistive Array; and Hot Molded Carbon Composition, Fixed Resistors.
The maximum junction temperature, which is normally available in the manufacturer's databook. The device is flagged as overstressed if the sum of the temperature rise and subassembly temperature is greater than the maximum junction temperature.
Temperature Rise
Real (Degrees C)
The rise in temperature between the operating temperature and the junction. If you enter a value for this parameter, this value is added to the operating temperature.
