Entering IEC TR 62380/RDF 2000 Potentiometers
The following table describes the part parameters required for non-wirewound cermet potentiometers.
Parameter
Type
Description
[Power Parameters]
Real (Watts)
For more information, see Power Parameters.
Resistance
Real
The resistance value of the device. This parameter is used in conjunction with Units to enter the resistance units.
Units
Choice List
The units for the Resistance value. Choices are:
Kohm (ohm * 1000)
Mohm (ohm * 1E6)
ohm
Load Resistance
Real
The total resistance between the wiper arm and one end of the potentiometer. This parameter is used in conjunction with Load Units to enter the load resistance units.
Load Units
Choice List
The units for the Load Resistance value. Choices are:
Kohm (ohm * 1000)
Mohm (ohm * 1E6)
ohm
Operating Voltage
Real (Volts)
The operating maximum voltage.
Operations per Year
Choice List
The number of times per year the device is operated. Choices are:
<= 10
10
Max Junction Temp
Real (Degrees C)
The maximum junction temperature, which is normally available in the manufacturer's databook. The device is flagged as overstressed if the sum of the temperature rise and subassembly temperature is greater than the maximum junction temperature.
Temperature Rise
Real (Degrees C)
The rise in temperature between the operating temperature and the junction. If you enter a value for this parameter, this value is added to the operating temperature.
