Build/Update Window
The Build/Update Selected Part window and Build/Update windows are very similar.
The Build/Update Selected Part window provides for building or updating data for the active part in the Parts Table. For more information, see Updating Part Data Using the Build/Update Selected Part Window.
The Build/Update window provides for building or updating part data for the active assembly in the System Tree Items table. For more information, see Building or Updating Files Using the Build/Update Window.
The following table describes the options in these panes.
Option
Description
Process parts in
The options under this heading indicate the part data to process. These options are shown in the Build/Update window. They are not shown in the Build/Update Selected Part window.
All assemblies
When selected, data is processed for all assemblies.
Selected assembly
When selected (default), data is processed for only the active assembly.
Selected assembly and all children
When selected (default), data is processed for the active assembly and all of its child assemblies (subassemblies).
Update type
The options under this heading indicate the type of update to perform. You can exchange part data between System files and Prediction Parts Library files. For more information, see Prediction Parts Library Files.
Create new Parts Library
When selected (default), parts are inserted in a new Prediction Parts Library file. For Parts Library, you specify the name to assign to this new file.
Update existing Parts Library
When selected, parts are updated in or added to the Prediction Parts Library file specified for Parts Library.
Update current file OR Update System file
When selected, the Prediction Parts Library file specified for Parts Library is searched for the part number. If you use in-house part numbers, the Prediction Correlation Library file selected for Correlation is also searched. When a match is found, the part is updated to reflect the data for the library part.
Use FRACAS calculated failure rates
Indicates whether to store the FRACAS calculated failure rate for the part as the part failure rate in the Prediction Parts Library file. This checkbox is available only if the FRACAS module is included in the Project and a Prediction Parts Library file is created or updated.
Parts Library
The Prediction Parts Library file to create or use in an update. When either update option is selected, a < Select File ... > label is shown if you must select the file to update. Clicking the browse button for this field opens a selection window. Choices include all enabled Prediction Parts Library files. For more information, see Parts Library File Selection Window.
Correlation
The Prediction Correlation Library file where an in-house part number is mapped to the part. If no Prediction Correlation Library files are enabled, this option is unavailable. For more information, see Prediction Correlation Library Files.
