Inserting a Repeated Event by Renaming an Existing Event
You can insert a repeated event in a fault tree by manually changing the identifier assigned to an existing event to the same identifier assigned to another event.
1. In the FTA Table, locate the event to make a repeated event.
2. In the Identifier column, double-click its identifier, which places you in edit mode.
3. Change the identifier assigned to this event to the same identifier assigned to the event that it is to repeat.
4. Press Tab or click elsewhere in the table. A window opens, asking whether you want to change the current event to be a repeat of the event having that same identifier.
If you click No, a window opens, indicating that the specified identifier is in use and that a different value must be assigned. After clicking OK, assign a unique identifier.
If you click Yes, that event is made a repeat of the event with the same identifier.
As described in Inserting Repeated Events, if repeated events are shown in a different color, both the copied and pasted event appear in the selected color.

To make an existing event a repeated event, you can also change Identifier on the General page in the Properties window. For more information, see Gate or Event Properties.
