Inputs Page (Gates Only)
The Inputs page in the Properties window for a gate lists all of child gates and events. This page is available only in the desktop application. The display-only table at the top of the page has two columns:
Identifier. The identifier assigned to the input, which can be a child gate or an event.
Gate/Event Type. The type of the gate or event. For more information, see Events and Gates.
Using the Add new input area beneath the table, you can insert additional gates and/or events as child inputs.
1. For Description, enter a description of the failure event for inputs you want to insert.
2. For Gate/Event Type, select the type of gate or event you want to insert. If restrictions exist on input types for the gate, only valid types are shown.
3. For Quantity, enter the number of inputs you want to insert.
4. Click the Add Input button.
The specified number of inputs are inserted as child inputs to the gate. The display-only table at the top of the page is updated to reflect their addition. After you close the Properties window for the gate, you would modify the properties for each gate or event that you inserted. You can do this in the FTA Table or the Properties window for the gate or event. Regardless, be sure to pay special attention to the failure event definition for Description.
