Event Text Box Fields
The following table describes the fields that can be shown in text boxes for events.
Field
Description
Calculation Properties
The type of input data specified for an event with a parameter definition of User defined. While the following descriptions indicate the default display labels shown in text boxes for FTA calculation input fields, when you select FTA Display Labels as the table type in the Project’s Data Definition file, you can supply custom prompts for these labels. For more information, see Customizing a Field Prompt.
For time dependent trees, the model is one of the following: Constant probability, Failure rate/MTBF, Frequency, Failure with repair, or Failure with periodic inspection. The default display label is Probability, FR, MTTF (MTBF), MCT, or Inspection Time. For more information, see Time Dependent Event Properties.
For Lambda Tau trees, several different models are available. When you add this field to the text box, the two input fields always shown for these types of trees are: Frequency and Average unavailability. The default display label is f and Q. For more information, see Lambda Tau Event Parameters.
For SAE trees, the model is Constant probability or Failure rate/MTBF. The default display labels is Probability, FR, or MTTF (MTBF). For more information, see SAE Event Parameters.
Description
The description assigned to the event on the General page in the Properties window. For more information, see General Page.
Exposure Time Percentage
The percentage of the overall mission time that you want specified as the exposure time or ‘at risk’ time associated with the event. This percentage is the fraction of the mission time for which the event is valid.
*
For events in an SAE tree, Exposure Time is shown instead. In this field, you enter the ‘at risk’ time associated with the event rather than the exposure time percentage.
Failure Rate Percentage
The percentage of the failure rate to use for the event. This percentage is available only for an event.
Logical Condition
The logical condition assigned to the gate on the Calculation Data page in the Properties window. For more information, see Calculation Data Page.
User Date 1 - 5
User-defined date fields that can be assigned to the event.
User Memo 1 - 5
User-defined memo fields that can be assigned to the event.
User Text 1 - 5
User-defined text fields that can be assigned to the event.
User Value 1 - 5
User-defined numeric fields that can be assigned to the event.
User Yes/No 1 - 5
User-defined yes/no fields that can be assigned to the event.
