Changing Gate or Event Types
You can change the type of an existing gate or event by doing one of the following:
• In the FTA Table, change the selection for Gate/Event Type.
• In the Properties window for the gate or event, change the selection for Gate/Event Type on the General page.
You cannot change the type of an event that has been linked to another item in the System file. In this case, the Gate/Event Type field for the event is display-only in both the FTA Table and the Properties window.
To change an existing gate to a transfer gate, do one of the following:
• Right-click the gate and select Break into Transfer.
• Select the gate and then select > .
As described in
Inserting Transfer Gates, both a transfer-in gate and a transfer-out gate are inserted. All tree logic originally associated with the transfer-in gate is placed on a new page. This feature makes it easy to break one large tree into two smaller, more manageable trees.
