Importing FRACAS Lookup Table Data
The Import Wizard supports add, update, and update append functions for the import of data into a FRACAS Lookup Table file. To import correctly, your source file must have both key fields and data fields in the same row.
To use the update or update append functionality, you must map all key fields and data fields in the source file to fields in the FRACAS Lookup Table file. When a match is found, data fields in the FRACAS Lookup Table file are updated using data fields in the source file. Key fields are not changed during an update.
Because you must map both key fields and data fields, the Select Field Assignments page of the Import Wizard lists both. To easily distinguish them from one another, (Key Field) is added to the prompts for key fields.
If FRACAS Data Lookup Table files are enabled in the Project, during import of data into a System file, data lookups occur when fields in FRACAS tables are modified. FRACAS Lookup Data Table files are searched for key record matches just as if you modified the data in these System file tables directly.
If desired, you can turn off the lookup functionality. On the Save Template page of the Import Wizard, you would click Advanced Options. Then, on the Disable FRACAS Lookup Table page, you would select the checkbox to turn off lookups.
