Records Associated with ‘X’ Window
For any record in the FMEA Control Plans table or the FMEA DVPs table, special fields display the number of FMEA records that are currently associated with the control plan or DVP. Clicking the FMEA Tree Items field or Causes field makes a browse button available. Clicking the browse button opens the Records Associated with ‘X’ window. The ‘X’ is the display field for the table.
For the FMEA Control Plans table, the default display field is Control Plan Identifier, which means the window name shows the identifier for the active control plan.
For the FMEA DVPs table, the default display field is DVP Identifier, which means the window name shows the identifier for the active DVP.
The navigation pane on the left specifies the associations to show in the pane on the right. The name for the page showing FMEA Worksheet associations is either Cause or Mode, depending on the data level in which Cause of Failure is located. The number in parentheses following the page name indicates the number of existing associations for the table type.
When the FMEA Tree Items page is selected, all associations with FMEA Tree Items records are shown. The table always contains FMEA Table Item and all fields from the Table Format file for the FMEA Tree Items table. There are no merged cells or tree structure. This table is simply a flat list.
When the Causes or Modes page is selected, all associations with FMEA Worksheet records are shown. The table always contains FMEA Table Item, FMEA Tree Item, and all fields from the Table Format file for the FMEA Worksheet table. The Table Format file for the active FMEA type is used. For example, if you are working on a component FMEA, the Table Format file for the component FMEA is used. Even FMEA records from other types of FMEAs will use this Table Format file. There are no merged cells. Each cause is its own record.
Beneath the table that displays existing associations, three buttons are shown on the left:
Add. Clicking this button starts the Add Association Wizard so that you can create associations.
Remove. Clicking this button removes associations from selected records.
Remove All. Clicking this button removes associations from all records.
Additionally, a button is shown on the right. Clicking Go to Selected Record closes the window and takes you to the association for the active FMEA record.
