Part Definition Pane
The Part Definition pane contains an hierarchical tree showing the part definitions inserted in the FMEA Modes Library file.
The top-level record indicates the part classification.
The second-level record indicates the part category.
The third-level record indicates the part subcategory.
For an RDF 2000/ IEC part only, the fourth-level record indicates the IEC 62380 failure mode type.
You can click the plus sign (+) or minus sign (-) to the left of a parent record to expand or collapse a branch in the part definition to show or hide child records. Because a part definition is display-only, if it is invalid or undesired, you must delete the top-level record to delete the part definition. You can enter any notes or comments about the part definition in the Remarks field.
Clicking < Click here to insert a new record > in the last row inserts a part definition. For more information, see Inserting a Part Definition.
You cannot use the standard Windows copy-and-paste technique to insert a new part definition. Additionally, you cannot use the cut-and-paste or drag-and-drop technique to reorder part definitions.
