Inserting Failure Modes for a Part
In the FMEA Modes Library file, you can insert failure modes for a part definition when the lowest level of the definition is selected in the Part Definition pane. For all but RDF 2000 / IEC parts, the lowest level of the definition is the part subcategory. For an RDF 2000 / IEC part, the lowest level of the part definition is the IEC 62380 failure mode type.
If the lowest level of the part definition is not selected, the Modes pane displays a message. For all but RDF 2000 / IEC parts, the message is: Insert or select a Part Subcategory to enable the Modes Table. For an RDF 2000 / IEC part, the message is: Insert or select an IEC 62380 Type to enable the Modes Table.
1. If the FMEA Modes Library file is not already open, then open it.
2. In the Part Definition pane, select the lowest level for the definition.
3. For each failure mode to insert, do the following:
a. In the last table row in the Modes pane, click < Click here to insert a new record >.
The Add Failure Mode window opens. For more information, see Add Failure Modes Window.
b. Complete this window and click OK to insert the failure mode.
You can make any necessary modifications directly to the failure modes in the Modes pane.
