In the upper window, the Parameter Diagram pane is present.
7. Select this pane and see how the form it contains is set up for p-diagram construction.
8. In the FMEA Tree Items table, insert assemblies and parts to represent the functions of your system.
9. To create a p-diagram for a function, do the following:
a. In the FMEA Tree Items table, select the assembly or part representing the function. The active item in this table is shown for Name in the Parameter Diagram pane.
b. In the Parameter Diagram pane, insert records in the various tables on the form to create the p-diagram for this function. For more information, see P-Diagram Overview.
For any table but the Ideal Functional Outputs & Error States table, you can click < Click here to insert a new record > to insert a record. For any table, including the Ideal Functional Outputs & Error States table, you can insert a record by right-clicking on the table and selecting an Insert command. Because the Ideal Functional Outputs and Error States table is a customized FMEA Worksheet table, you use Insert commands for inserting items and modes.
Selecting Insert Item inserts a new entry in the Function/Requirements column.
Selecting Insert Mode inserts a new entry in the Potential Failure Mode column.
If you insert cause level fields in this customized FMEA Worksheet table, selecting Insert Cause would insert a new entry for cause level columns.
