Changing the FMEA Data Structure
The FMEA Design file defines the hierarchy of FMEA data levels for the FMEA Worksheet table. You can change the hierarchical structure specified by the FMEA Design file by using the Select FMEA Data Structure window. You cannot use the Undo feature to undo any change that you might make.
1. Select Design > Setup Structure. The Select FMEA Data Structure window opens.
The default is the second structure, Standard FMEA, which indicates that the FMEA Worksheet table is to use three data levels: item, mode, and cause. To select a structure, you can either click the option or click anywhere in the hierarchical tree shown for the structure.
2. Select the data structure to use and click OK.
The FMEA Design file now shows the new hierarchical structure.
3. Insert any non-required FMEA fields to use beneath data levels. For more information, see Inserting a Non-Required FMEA Field.
4. When finished, close the FMEA Design file.
