Text Source Files
The following Import Wizard pages can appear when the data to import is in a text file:
• Specify Text File Format. On this page, you indicate whether the text file is delimited or fixed-width and whether it contains header or footer information. The options under Text file format indicate how the fields in the source file are distinguished one from another.
◦ If characters such as commas or tabs separate the fields, select Delimited.
◦ If fields are aligned in columns with only spaces between them, select Fixed width.
The options under Header/footer information indicate whether header and footer information is contained within the source file. Once you select an option, click Next. The Delimiter Selection page or Fixed Width Column Setup page appears.
• Delimiter Selection. On this page, you indicate the delimiter and any character used to qualify or delineate text strings. It is shown when
Delimited is selected on the
Specify Text File page. Once you select a delimiter and any qualifier, click
Next. The
Select Product Module page appears. For more information, see

• Fixed-Width Column Setup. On this page, you indicate where column breaks occur. It is shown when
Fixed width is selected on the
Specify Text File page. Once you indicate column breaks, click
Next. The
